A friend and I just completed a 10 day trip with Gabe February 2024. The area we surfed had many beautiful spots we surfed mainly by ourselves which was unreal. I felt incredibly safe the whole time, Ecuador is slow paced, beautiful and Ecuadoreans are super friendly welcoming people. Gabe always had a big smile on his face, surfs well, always shouting you in and incredibly punctual, up for the Dawny every day! What an amazing trip!
From the start to the end Gabe was extremely punctual and a top guy.
He put us in the right spot every time. Very on it when it came to good local knowledge on all the spots along the coast. Swell directions, winds, tides, crowds he knew it all. Would go out of his way to drive for over an hour from where we were based to get the best waves depending on the conditions. Managed to luck in to some amazing conditions over our 10 days in Ecuador. He booked us some really nice accommodation as part of the package. We didn’t know what to expect as the photos of the hotel didn’t do it justice. When we arrived we were blown away with what we saw. Had a blast in Ecuador scoring solo session waves with Gabriel! Was a very organized and professional setup - would highly recommend for anyone on a surf strike who is looking for local knowledge of the best waves in Ecuador. I saw a big NW swell coming and within 24 hours booked my trip with Gabriel. Gab is a local pro and knows where to go when and organized video (including drone) content. My wife and I are intermediate surfers from USA and we had an epic week of surfing with Gabriel and Alejandro. They did everything they could to get us on the best waves without crowds. The point breaks in their operating territory are world class. These guys are well respected in the community, perceptive to your specific needs, communicate well in English and Spanish, and are honestly just really good people. Gabriel loves Ecuador and it shows, from his knowledge of where to be to get the best waves on any given swell, to his advice about local restaurants and culture. I traveled with my wife in 2023 and although we couldn't be with him the entire week, he paired us up with Alejandro, another surf guide, who took great care of us as well, and we were still in constant contact about where to go to get the best opportunities in the water. We ended up scoring and had a real blast. I would highly recommend touring Ecuador with Gabriel: he's friendly and laid back, yet very professional and he'll do his best to ensure you have a great time no matter what. Ecuador Surf Travel / Gabe gives you a dictionary definition for perfection.
Aside from being an amazing surfer, Gabe organized our trip in the most efficient and fun way.
We scored consistent perfect waves in different surf spots.
Every end of day, when you think that it cannot get any better, was followed by an even better day.

Group of friends used Ecuador Surf Travel in March 2023. Gab is a great guide and a great person. And his staff are exceptional people. We’ve been traveling around central and South America for over 30 years. It’s hard to find a trustworthy and skilled company to make sure everything goes correct, and safe and that you’re put on the waves. These guys check all the boxes and more. We are trying to get back with Gab and his staff for another surf trip. Equador is beautiful. The people are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The surf is fantastic. Can’t wait to get back there. Gabriel is a great Surfguide, who likes to share the stoke of surfing, while always chasing the best waves suiting to your skill level. He knows the area really well and likes to share his knowledge. we have had a great and fun time with him.
